[実車解説] Ｓｄ.Ｋｆｚ.２２１は、第１次世界大戦後のドイツ初の本格的装甲車として開発された。本装甲車の開発は1934年で、翌35年から1940年までに339両が生産された。 Ｓｄ.Ｋｆｚ.２２１は主武装として7.92mm機銃を備えていたが、ソ連侵攻が始まると偵察でも武装面で不十分と考えられるようになり、1942年からは20mm機関砲等搭載による武装強化が実施され、終戦まで第一線で運用が続けられた。 Direct successors of the 4x2 Adler cars, the armoured cars known as Leichter Panzerspawagen are declined in five different versions using the 4x4 Horch/Auto-Union chassis and designated Sd.Kfz. 221, 222, 223, 260 and 261. The radio variant is fitted with the turret of the Sd.Kfz. mounting a MG 34 machine-gun and carries a single FU 8 radio set designed for ground communications with a maximal range of 40 km. This useful vehicle provided friendly forcers long-range communication links. The 4 WD vehicles had the worst difficulties to cope with the harshness of the Russian climate Although the production halted in 1942 and were progressively replaced by semi-tracked Sd. Kfz. 250, it was still common place to see some Sd.Kfz. 222 and 223 in 1944.Mbr> Operated on every fronts of WWII, 550 units were built from 1935 to january 1944. |
