[Gaso.line/Quarter Kit 1/48 \16,275]

[模型解説]
 Gaso.line/Quarter Kit(仏)製の完成品。

Krupp rolled out the prototype of the Panzer I in February 1934. Over 2,000 of these low-cost tanks have been delivered. Although obsolete the armoured divisions have been quickly and sufficiently equipped with this vehicle that allowed the training of the IIIrd Reich's armoured armies.
The Pz.I Ausf.B entered service in 1935. The 6 cylinders NL 38 TR water-cooled Maybach engine yielded 100 hp that enabled the crew of two and that almost 6 tons vehicle to travel at 40 km/h. But the military capacities of this tank remained rather limited. Actually, the Pz.I Ausf.B was merely unable to wreck any enemy tank encountered as its armament: a duet of 7.92 mm MG 34 machine-guns with 2,250 cartridges housed in the turret, was not meant for this task. This global lack of performance was also to be found in the weakly and poorly designed 13 mm thick armour that could only withstand the fire from small individual weapons.
This tank offered the Wehrmacht the great benefit of gaining a very valuable combat experience during the Spanish civil war in 1936. Although outclassed, the Pz.I Ausf.B saw combat in Poland then in France and even in June 1941 for the attack against the USSR.
